Planning a Casino Party at an NYC Venue
Hosting in Manhattan, Brooklyn or Queens is different from a suburban hall. Sort out these details with your venue before you choose a table count:
- Load-in access: ask whether the venue has a loading dock or freight elevator and what hours it is open. Casino tables arrive in sections, and many NYC buildings only allow vendor load-in during set windows.
- Certificate of insurance: most NYC venues ask every vendor for a certificate of insurance before event day. Royal Entertainment is fully insured; send us your venue’s requirements when you book.
- Floor space: plan roughly a 10 by 10 foot area for each blackjack or poker table, including room for players and onlookers. Craps needs the most room, while a money wheel or slot machine fits against a wall.
- Table count: not every guest plays at once. Plan on about one table for every 25 guests, so a 100-guest party runs well with four to five tables. Add more if the casino is the main event rather than one attraction among several.
- Setup time: we set up before doors open and break down after the last hand, so build our load-in into the venue schedule.

Is a Casino Party Legal in New York?
Private and corporate casino parties are usually played purely for fun: guests play with funny money that has no cash value, and prizes are given out through a drawing. Fundraisers are different. When a charity takes real money for play, New York treats the event as a casino night under its Games of Chance rules, and the organization applies for the license through its local municipal clerk. The state limits these events to five casino-type games.
